Continuing Education

As part of our certification program, we require that certificants participate in continuing education (CE) courses. This ensures that all certificants maintain and grow their professional expertise and commitment. BOC works with course providers, on a one-time or ongoing basis, to develop CE programs.

Continuing Education Requirements

To maintain your certification status, you need to complete a specific number of CE credit hours and verify your accomplishment to BOC. Each certification program has specific CE requirements.

How To Earn Continuing Education Units

studentsBOC certification programs allow practitioners to have greater autonomy and flexibility in meeting their continuing education unit (CEU) requirements. Here are some of the CE options we offer:

  • structured educational courses or training courses - you or the course provider need to provide proof of attendance and credits awarded

  • manufacturer-sponsored programs (in-services) -related to new products and/or techniques

  • independent study of professional or academic journals - BOC will recognize 1 CE credit hour per article -you must submit the article itself and a 1 page, single spaced summary of the article

  • participation or attendance at relevant trade shows - you need to submit completed Exhibit Hall Attendance form

  • teaching educational seminars - BOC will recognize 3 CE credit hours per hour of teaching a course -you need to submit a detailed course outline, along with references used to develop the course

  • volunteer work

As a BOC-Certified Practitioner, it is your responsibility to correctly report all continuing education work to BOC.
